In recent 1-2 years , there's discussion about privatization of Indian railways .So

If you heard about this or not but on 1 July 2020 government of India announced privatization plans of Indian railways .

As being a public place , Railway station as well as trains are mostly crowded . And, the vendors of various weird objects , beggers which makes even worse. This brings customers experience to negligible .

Privatization may divide the class of rich and poor more and also may impact lower class people more but this will also bring benefits.

The privatization experiment started last year with the introduction of Tejas express by IRCTC. And, it looks like the results are encouraging which is why Indian Railways has decided to take this to the next level.

But why ?

It is crucial because railways needs cash and government of India is very tight on fiscal budget which means government tax revenue is not enough to support the country .

Or we can say it is because of covid 19 pandemic which is going on which hits the Indian economy very badly as many business and industries are shut for 2-3 months

And as per government own estimate, the Indian railways requires funds of 50 lakh crore for the next 12 years of its operations.

How will this happen ?

Railways has invited proposals from private companies to run modern private trains 109 routes in India. This aims to attract investments of Rs. 30,000 crores with this.This entire process will take 6 months.

In each trains there will be 16 coaches. And they all are high speed trains like Tejas express with speed of 160km/hr . However, the drivers and gaurds will be appointed by railways itself.

As privatization will also negligible possibilities of delaying of trains , there will be also neat and clean railways stations .But it may also have high tickets cost or dynamic fair prices.

Let’s hope that it changes the face of Indian Railways forever and will give benefits to customers and enhance user experience of railways.
